Tirta Empul is a Hindu temple whose holy waters are believed to have healing properties. The temple is located 30 minutes' drive from Ubud and features a long rectangular pool carved of stone filled with koi and fed by a sacred spring via 12 fountains. Worshippers first make an offering at the temple, then bathe and pray in the main pool.

Amazing

We loved our recent visit to Tirta Empul - it was part of a package we did that also included a trip to Gunung Kawi which is nearby. A lovely chance to experience the local traditions, recommended.

This was a highlight of our Bali trip. We saw many local people coming to bathe in the water - it was lovely to experience. If you want to get in the water, you must wear a sarong (you can also hire these at the temple).

Tirta Empul is really spiritual place… I saw many Balinese people who come for bathing in the holy water. It was impressed for me. The site is surrounded by old forest. I could touch Balinese spirit and refreshed by green tropical plants.
